Author and artist Quichard Souffrant alongside a quote about silence and noise.

I didn’t mean to become a poet.

I started writing long before I knew what I was doing with words. In elementary school, it was my diary. Then I started creating my own stories.
Somewhere around high school, those stories got shorter.
The sentences started breaking apart. And somehow, without deciding to, I was writing poems. I think that’s why my poetry still feels a little like all three.

A diary.

A story.

A poem.

I write the way thoughts happen, sometimes unfinished, sometimes funny, sometimes uncomfortable, and not always easy to explain.

I like simple words that leave complicated questions behind. And when words aren’t enough, I paint. I’d rather give you the pieces and let you decide what they mean.

Maybe you’ll see something I didn't.

Hi, I’m Quichard.
